School Self-Evaluation (SSE) is a reflective process where schools review and assess their own teaching and learning practices. It helps identify strengths, set clear improvement goals, and plan actions to enhance outcomes for all pupils.
SSE promotes collaboration among staff, pupils, and parents to ensure continuous school improvement. Here in Glanduff NS, we are focusing on the four key areas of Wellbeing.

Wellbeing was chosen to support pupils’ learning, promote positive relationships, and ensure every child develops the skills, confidence, and kindness needed to thrive.

Actions and interventions:

  • The introduction of wellbeing and mindfulness strategies in class and in
    learning support lessons.
  • Friendship Day
  • Anti-Bullying week
  • Wellbeing baskets
  • Teacher CPD (Wellbeing, STEM, Robotics)
  • Wellbeing groups in SET teaching
  • Implementation of the Bí Cineálta policy
  • Parents Association involvement in creating an outdoor classroom

We feel that Wellbeing is now firmly embedded in the culture of our school. We have recently decided to now switch our SSE target this term in relation to the new Maths curriculum. A parent survey will be sent in term 3 looking for your feedback to help guide us to identify our next SSE focus.
